Clouds with dove, center piece for metal cup
Project details
Hi!.
Im creating a chalice, (meaning a metal cup). The cup and the base are done, but I intend to have the middle part,
(the holding knot) 3d printed.
There will be three pieces, but will start by ordering just one, and see how that turns out. the other two will be
really easy to do.
The one I want to geyt right now is like this:
(See the attached file)
THE CONCEPT:
It’s supposed to be a cloud, in the front of it there is a dove, with a halo, (the halo is just a circle with a Cross)
and some “Rays” coming out behind of his back, and behind the halo. The dove seems to be coming out of the cloud, and
the clouds will come out under the wings of the dove, in order to complete a circle.
This is the piece which one will use to hold the cup, meaning, it has to be made in such a way that you can wrap your
hand around it. I am not looking for anything ergonomical, it suffices if it is round shaped, if seen from the top. Seen
from the side, it’s more oval shaped.
If at this point you are quite lost, look at the attached file again.
The piece will be united, with a screw bar, to other two pieces, one will go on the botton, the other on top. that’s why
the top and bottom of our current piece has to be flat, in a circle of 3 cm. diameter.
The other two pieces will be a piece of cake for any 3d designer, it’s just cilinder shaped piece, with a repetitive pattern. I will send more details on that later. For now, I want to get the first one done.
TOTAL MEASUREMENTS OF OUR PIECE:
4 CM WIDE.
3 CM HIGH.
(tHE DOVE MAY FIT PROPORTIONALLY IN THERE, IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE WINGS DO NOT STICK OUT)
This was made in a hurry, I apologize for the deisgn and sketch. Some Requirements:
1.- It has to be 3d Printable. ( I will use a raise 3d Pro 2 Printer.)
2.- Easy to hold it with your hand.
3.- Top and bottom have to be flat, from the center, with a 3cm diameter.
4.- The piece should be rezisable as a whole, (in case we need to make it a little bigger or smaller).
5.- I ask that you are willing to make small modifications (size of particular items, or small relocations) at no charge.
I will be reasonable.
It seems complicated, it’s not that much. Thank you for your time! Ask me whatever you need.
Help me out with the budget too… this is for an ordination chalice.
Carlos.
