Convert Drupal 6 Template to Drupal 7

I have a Drupal 6 template. My hosting only has Drupal 7. I need to convert the template to version 7. I saw a procedure for it on Drupal site but I’d rather leave it to an experienced professional to do it to avoid future pitfalls.
