Convert XLS V2 1987 file to XLS 2003
Project details
We have a system that exports Excel files in a very old version of excel XLV2 1987
I want a console application that takes a %Filelocation% as the inputs
Checks which files have not been converted
Loops through the xls v2 files in the folder
moves the original file to %FileLocation%Original
Saves the new file where the Original file was located with the same name as a Excel 2003 file
Other things to take into consideration
1. Must be created in Visual Studio 2010
2. Must work on a Windows 64bit server that does not have Excel install
3. Must not use a interactive session
[url removed, login to view] can be used to save the new files as long as it does not need excel installed
5. 2 sample files attached 1 of them has a blank row at the start
6. Excel V2 file definication is attached
[url removed, login to view] be able to handle Different numbers of columns/ rows
8. will always have 1 workbook
9. not interesting in formatting such as font size
10. Special characters such as -/£ must be kept
