I need a fairly simple excel formula. I want to insert an income amount. From that entry, I need the formula to calculate a percentage of the amount in a tiered format. IE. I enter $1,000,000. The tiers would be as follows: 0 – 250,000 = 6%, 250,001 – 500,000 would be 5%, 500,001 – 750,000 would be 4%, and 750,001 to 1,000,000 would be 3%. Anything over 1,000,000 would be 0 as 1 mil would be the cap. Then I need these totals to be calculated into one total amount. If I enter 1,000,000 or more the amount would be 45,000: 6% of the first 250K = 15,000, 5% of the next 250K = 12,500, 4% of the next 250K = 10,000 and the last 250K = 7500 for a total of 45,000.
