Preview product video with Shopify

I have a retail website hosted on Shopify. By default, Shopify allows product images to be uploaded but videos can only be embedded into the description portion via youtube links.
I am looking for a savvy coder to help modify the liquid code and allow the user to preview the video, within the product thumbnail, on the collection page should there be a video embedded in the product description. The idea here is to be able to preview a product video demo without having to go to the product page.
I’ve attempted to do this via Shopify’s “Split” function but was not able to fully get it working right.
Attached is an image of how the collection page should look. Products with a video embedded in the description area are shown with a play button in the upper right corner.
